Croissant Bag — Triangle Motif Charts (A & B)

Symbol charts for the two triangle motifs. Make 6 of Motif A and 1 of Motif B.
Motif A color sequence: Round 1 purple, Round 2 pink, Round 3 dark green.
Motif B is worked entirely in dark green.
Chart symbols used: chain (ch), single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), treble (tr) and 3-dc bobbles; brackets = several stitches worked in the same stitch. See the written text pattern for the round-by-round stitch counts.
Legend: open triangle = starting stitch, filled triangle = fastening-off stitch.

Croissant Bag — Joining Motifs & Edging

Arrange 3 triangle motifs into one large trapezoid panel (A-A-A) and join, then work the top edge in dark green using groups of sc and dc.
Assembly: hold the front and back panels with wrong sides together and join with a whip/sc seam, leaving the top opening unjoined (about 23 stitches across the opening, with 5 stitches free at each corner).
Attach Motif B (the small triangular flap) to the back of the opening with a seam, and sew a button in the marked position to finish.

Stitch key (as defined by this designer): CH = chain, F = dc, X = sc, E = tr, FQ = 3-dc bobble, FW = 3-dc group, FV = dc increase (2 dc in one st), SL = sl st, [ ] = all worked in the same stitch.

Motif A (make 6):
Rnd 1: In a magic ring: ch 3 (counts as first dc), 4 dc, [ch 2, tr, ch 2] in ring for corner, *5 dc, [ch 2, tr, ch 2] corner*, repeat x2, sl st to join.
Rnd 2: change color at the join, ch 1, *5 sc, ch 2, 3-dc bobble, ch 3, sc, ch 3, 3-dc bobble, ch 2*, repeat x3, sl st.
Rnd 3: change color at a bobble, ch 1, *sc, 5 dc, sc, [3-dc group, ch 1, tr, ch 1, 3-dc group] in same st*, repeat x3, sl st.

Motif B (make 1):
Rnd 1: In a magic ring: ch 3, 4 dc, ch 1, (5 dc, ch 1) x2, join.
Rnd 2: ch 3, working into the R1 ch-space: 1 dc, *5 dc, [dc-inc, ch 1, dc-inc] corner*, repeat x2, 5 dc, into the first ch-space [dc-inc, ch], sl st.
Rnd 3: ch 3, into the R2 ch-space: 1 dc, *9 dc, [dc-inc, ch 1, dc-inc] corner*, repeat x2, 9 dc, into the first ch-space [dc-inc, ch 1], sl st.

Assembly: Slip-stitch three small motifs together into a large triangle, then work a round of sc around the outer edge. Seam the two large panels together (slip-stitch seam). Sew Motif B onto a suitable spot and add a button — main body complete.

Strap: ch 3, then work back picking up loops to make a chunky crochet cord (3 loops on the hook; pull through the loops one at a time, reinserting each time), repeating to the desired length (about 20cm), then pull through all loops, cut and tighten, and seam the ends into a ring. A simple chain of about 12cm can be substituted.
