Eyes (make 2, 1.8mm, cream; wrong side facing out)
Rnd 1: Ch 4, starting from 2nd ch: 2 sc, 3 sc in next st, sc, inc (working around the chain)

Eyelids (make 2, ochre split into 2 strands, 1.5mm)
Row 1: 5 sc in MR; do not join — turn and work flat

Belt (1.8mm, black)
Ch a length that fits around the body, join into a ring; Rnd 2: sc around.

Edging: ch 1, work 3 sc in corner, then sc around the remaining 3 edges with 3 sc in each corner. Leave a long tail on one piece. Glue a piece of felt inside the middle so the briefcase looks more solid, then sew the two pieces together.

Mouth (1.8mm, milk tea)
Ch 30, join into a ring; glue on with the wrong side facing out.

Eyebrows: cut from black felt and glue on.

Part 2 of 2 for the office-worker fish. 'W' in the original shorthand = 3 sc in one stitch. Wrong-side-out pieces give a smoother look.

How do the legs stand?

The feet are glued to a shaping wire, threaded into the pant-leg tubes with 6 rounds of foot exposed, then sewn or glued in place.

Why work the eyes wrong-side-out?

The reverse fabric looks smoother and rounder for the bulging cartoon eyes; the ochre eyelids are sewn on top.
