Frequently asked questions
How do the legs stay posable?
The legs are made by wrapping yarn over a shaping wire, so the finished mushroom can stand and have its feet bent into a walking pose.
How are the white dots added to the cap?
The white dots are crocheted separately and sewn onto the cap, rather than worked into the colorwork, which lets you place them wherever you like.
How is the cap attached to the body?
Leave a long tail when finishing the cap and use it to sew the cap onto Round 17 of the body; lightly stuff the center of the cap before attaching.
Is the round numbering in the cap correct?
Note that the cap instructions jump from Round 6 to Round 8 in the source with no Round 7 listed, so follow the stitch counts in order rather than relying strictly on the round numbers.
