A miniature floating island charm inspired by the sky islands in Minecraft: two stacked grass discs on a coiled cone base, with a tiny four-piece house and a little tree on top. Two hook sizes keep the house dense while the island stays soft.

Frequently asked questions
How is the cone-shaped base made?
It is not increased in the round. You crochet one very long flat strip two rows tall, then coil it up gradually, gluing as you go, until the coil is about the same diameter as the grass discs.
How are the door and window made?
By skipping stitches and turning mid-row: you work a few stitches, turn back, skip 2, then work the other side, which leaves a rectangular opening in the wall.
Why two hook sizes?
The 1.8mm hook makes the house walls tight enough to hold their shape at that scale, while the 2.5mm hook keeps the grass discs soft and quick.
