A tiny fluffy Samoyed sitting inside half a coconut, about 5.5cm tall. The shell and the white coconut flesh are worked as two matching pieces and joined back-loop-only so the seam vanishes - and if you leave it partly open you can hide a small gift inside.

Why join the shell and flesh through the back loops?
Sewing BLO tucks the join inside the rim, so the brown shell meets the white flesh in a clean line instead of a visible seam ridge.
Can I put something inside the coconut?
Yes - the designer suggests leaving the coconut only partly seamed so you can hide a small surprise gift in the cavity.
Why is the dog so simple?
Only the top of the dog shows above the shell, so the body is just six rounds. The fluffy yarn does the rest of the work.
