Lace Vest — Pattern Info, Schematic & Stitch Chart

Yarn: linen (yellow), ~200g. Hook: 4/0 (~2.5mm).
Finished: length 50 cm, yoke depth 24.5 cm. Gauge: 1 pattern repeat = 3.3 cm; 8.5 rows = 10 cm.

Construction: work back & front in the lace pattern stitch, starting at the shoulders on a chain foundation (4 rows each shoulder), then add the neckline chain and continue left+right together. Pick up the front from the back foundation the same way. Edge the hem with border A; sides and collar with border B; make 4 dc ties and sew on.
Pattern stitch: 10 sts = 1 repeat, 4 rows = 1 vertical repeat — dc shells with ch mesh.

Notes

Same Japanese lace-vest pattern pages as the lemon vest. 4/0 hook, linen ~200g. 10-st lace repeat; borders A/B; 4 dc ties.

Lace Vest — Body Schematic (Fig 1, oval yoke) + Borders A & B (worked as charted)

Body: rectangle with an oval neck opening; about 49 sts picked up along each side of the opening.
Border A: fan-shell edging, 10 sts = 1 repeat (hem).
Border B: smaller shell edging, 8 sts = 1 repeat (sides and collar).
Borders are rows of dc shells separated by sc for a scalloped edge.
Symbols: oval = ch, + = sc, T with bar = dc.

Notes

Body schematic plus the two edging charts. Oval neckline ~49 sts per side. Border A (10-st) hem; border B (8-st) sides/collar.

Lace Vest — Body Lace Stitch Chart (worked as charted)

Shell-and-mesh lace, 10-st repeat:
- Work a fan/shell of dc into a ch space, ch, sc into the next space, ch — repeat across.
- Following rows stack shells over the previous ch spaces, offset so open diamonds form between the fans.
- The bottom is finished with a row of scalloped dc shells.
Symbols: oval = ch, + = sc, T with bars = dc/tr fans.

Notes

Shell-and-mesh body lace, 10-st repeat, scalloped shell hem. Same pattern as the lemon vest.
