Letter E — Crochet Symbol Chart

Foundation: Ch 22, ch 1 (turning ch), sl st back 6 sts, ch 16 to continue.

Follow the symbol chart to form the letter E shape:
- Blue sections: Work in one direction (right side facing)
- Pink sections: Turn work and crochet in reverse direction
- Green/olive sections: Border/edging stitches
- Black triangle: Starting point
- Black dashed line: Middle bar of the E

Stitches used: sc (X), ch (o), dc (T), inc/shell (V)

The E is constructed by working the vertical spine first, then adding the three horizontal bars (top, middle, bottom) with decorative shell/fan edging.

Tip: Use fabric stiffener or starch spray to shape after completion.

Notes

Foundation ch 22. The letter is worked flat with direction changes indicated by color coding in the chart. Blue = forward direction, pink = after turning. Can be used as an applique, bookmark, or decorative initial. The post recommends using stiffener/starch spray for shaping.
