Mouse Family Amigurumi

A pair of chubby white mice with pale blue trousers — a big one and a little one — worked as separate heads and bodies with wired posable tails. Charted round by round in a table so every stitch count is spelled out.

Frequently asked questions

What do the red and black rows in the chart mean?

Red text is the pale blue yarn and black text is white. Use an invisible colour change so the join does not show.

How are the legs and body worked?

Both legs are made first: fasten off the first leg, keep the yarn on the second, then join them and carry on around both to form the body in one piece.

Why leave the head open?

The head is not closed off — you leave a long tail and sew it straight onto the body, which gives a cleaner join than closing and then stitching.

How do I make the tail curl?

The tail is worked over 29 rounds with a split strand of yarn on a 1.0mm hook, then a wire is threaded in from the top so you can bend it into shape.
