Openwork Diamond Tote — Oval Base, Body & Strap (worked as charted) Yarn: combed knitting yarn (20-ply), ~420g. Hook: 3.0mm. Finished ~30cm tall x 42cm wide. Oval Base (start ch 47), worked in dc with end increases each round: Rnd 1: 100 dc Rnd 2: 112 Rnd 3: 124 Rnd 4: 136 Rnd 5: 148 Rnd 6: 160 Body: continue in dc rounds up from 160 sts (number of rows to taste - openwork/lattice pattern as charted). Strap: work rows 1-26 of dc, shaping the width (rows numbered on the chart), narrowing toward the middle; make the other side to match and seam. After seaming, edge the strap with a round of sc, and optionally a round of reverse sc for decoration. Symbols: oval = ch, filled oval = sl st, T with bar = dc, splayed T = dc-inc.
