Frequently asked questions

How is the star shape formed?

After working the flat circular base (Rnds 1-4), each of the five points is shaped individually over 8 stitches using decreases (sc2tog) across Rows 5-9, then a sc border is worked around the whole edge.

How do I assemble the star fruit?

Make two star pieces, leaving a long tail on one for sewing. Hold them together, stuff lightly as you sew around, then attach the two leaves.

What does sc2tog do here?

sc2tog is a single-crochet decrease that works two stitches together as one; it is used at the ends of the point rows to taper each star point to a sharp tip.
