1/6Apple Storage Basket
Original design by @Scarlett🍓
A small apple-shaped storage bowl with a stem and a leaf - a tidy little catch-all for rings, clips or keys. The apple lip comes from leaving half stitches free on one round and edging them separately.

Notes
Small apple-shaped storage bowl with a stem and leaf. Yarn: 4-ply cotton in goose yellow, tomato red, olive green and dark coffee. In this diagram F = dc, T = hdc, x = sc, v = inc, k = skip, sl = sl st. Rnd 4 leaves half stitches free so the rim can be edged separately, which is what gives the apple its lip. Frequently asked questions
What makes the raised apple rim?
Round 4 leaves half of each stitch free. After the sides are finished you go back and slip stitch once around into those free half stitches, which creates the lip that reads as the top of an apple.
What do the letters in this chart mean?
F = double crochet, T = half double crochet, x = single crochet, v = increase, k = skip, sl = slip stitch.
Can I make it deeper?
Yes - rounds 6 and 7 are plain single crochet, so repeat them as many times as you like before the final slip stitch round to get a taller bowl.
