From the post: 4-ply cotton, 2.0 mm hook; work Rnd 2 of the head in the inner half loop and leave the front loop for the fringe; cheeks made with single/double strand loops sewn on; apron is chains + dc rows with a white patch. A few handwritten tokens (arrows/corrections around R9) are interpreted per the annotation 'v,x,v above the 4f groups'.

What is a 'gummy body'?
A one-piece squat body style: the head ball decreases sharply (10 dec), then the body widens again with hdc bumps forming the muzzle and cheeks — no separate head and body to sew.
Any color-change tricks?
Change to navy on the last stitch of round 8, and work the hdc bump groups of rounds 9-11 in orange so the muzzle stands out against the navy body.
