Frequently asked questions
How are the two circles joined into a bag?
You make two identical circular pieces, then mark the bag opening position, fold the pieces, and slip-stitch the seam together everywhere except the marked opening. An assembly photo in the pattern shows exactly where to leave the opening.
What is the bamboo stick base row for?
The first round (77 stitches) is worked over a bamboo stick base, which gives the round body a firm, structured starting edge to build the fan/shell rounds onto.
How do I get the two-tone look?
The finished sample uses a two-color combination. Choose one color for the main fan/shell body and a contrasting color for the center flower or accent rounds to recreate the look shown in the finished photo.
